The Guest House is situated in the centre of Port Talbot town within easy walking distance of many cafes, bars, restaurants and takeaways Tesco Supermarket is just around the corner and there is a small convenient store opposite the house open from 8 until 9pm every day. Several free to use ATM machines are nearby.
The Princess Royal Theatre is a two minute walk away, a multi purpose venue, events include the annual pantomime, professional and amateur shows, concerts, children’s shows, opera, musicals, comedy evenings, ceremonies and presentations, major conferences, seminars, exhibitions and fairs.
Aberavon Beach & Seafront (1.75 miles)
Aberavon seafront is one of Wales’ longest beaches having a contemporary promenade that overlooks Mumbles and Swansea Bay. This place is popular whatever the weather, in the winter the promenade is popular with dog walkers and in the summer, the beach attracts sun worshippers and families alike.
The beach front has been developed recently with minuture golf, skate park, adventure playground and public toilets. There is also a six-screen Apollo Cinema, next to the new Aberavon Leisure & Fitness Centre with its new swimming pool.
There are bars and cafes on the seafront.
The beach is accessible by car, bus and on foot, with car parking available along the 3 mile stretch of sand. Walking to the beach from the guest house takes about 25 minutes.

Margam Country Park (2.5 miles)
Margam Park is a popular local attraction,and boasts the magnificent Margam Castle, Orangery with ornamental gardens and Deer Park, are set within 1000 acres of breathtaking countryside.
The attractions include a narrow gauge railway, adventure playgrounds, Go Ape (high wire adventure), Fairytale Land (children’s area with a nursery rhyme theme) and rare breeds farm trail.
Afan Forest Park (4.5 miles)
The Guest House is situated along Route 887 of the National Cycle Network, linking Port Talbot with the breathtaking scenery of Afan Forest park.
The fantastic landscape offers lots of opportunities to get out and experience nature. There are excellent mountain biking, cycling and walking trails for visitors to enjoy. With six mountain bike trails, a low level cycle route and 10 walks there are many ways in which you can discover Afan Forest Park.
A secure garage where cyclists can lock their bikes is available at the Forge.
